GRADUATE COLLECTION DIGITAL SUBMISSION
My graduate collection Deadly is the Female• was inspired by the film noir movement of 20th-century cinema. My focus was specifically on the use of the common film archetype of a femme fatale and how the character develops in these films from a demure image of beauty and elegance into a dimensional and complex woman.
*The title Deadly is the Female derives from the original title of the 1950 film noir Gun Crazy, about a “well-meaning husband {who} is pressured by his beautiful marksman wife to go on an interstate robbery spree, where he finds out just how depraved and deadly she really is.”
Due to Covid-19 beginning during the final term of my studies, I was not able to create a physical graduate collection at my university. However I am slowly making each of the pieces I designed from materials and resources I have at home. This page will be updated as the rest of my collection is made and photographed so please check back again soon to see more!
